All grant recipients will be notified by email by the date listed (Winter: February 15 / Summer: August 20). If you have not received notification, we invite you to apply again in a future grant season.
You can use one application form to list all children impacted, however we will need separate doctors’ confirmations from your physician(s).
In order to help you through our grant process, we have provided answers to your most frequently asked questions.
If you are awarded a grant, you must wait a minimum of three years before applying again.
We will ask you to sign a form pledging that you will provide us with feedback about your grant experience and how it has affected your family’s health and well-being. Your experience may be used on our website to provide hope for other families struggling with PANDAS/PANS. Please send photos! We love pictures! We will also ask that you sign a waiver to allow us to use your names, story, and your image (in any photos you provide) on our website and marketing materials.
Families juggling PANDAS/PANS expenses will need a lot of things. We recommend choosing one thing that your family needs. Do you require further testing? Do you have an outstanding bill that needs to be paid? Do you need to travel to see your doctor? We do not restrict your specific use of the grant money, other than to require that it be used in conjunction with treating your child. As we have said before, we would love to help as many families as possible through the difficult financial burdens that PANDAS/PANS springs on us.
If I am not awarded a grant, can I re-apply?
VERY IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ THIS!!!
PANDAS/PANS Advocacy and Support will confirm medical eligibility with the help of the applicant’s treating physician**.
The treating physician's letter verifying the confirmation of a PANDAS/PANS diagnosis is required in conjunction with your grant request and must be on his/her letterhead.
The letter must include the applicant’s name, date of birth and a brief case history confirming diagnosis, and must be accompanied by a completed version of our HIPAA Release Form.
Additional letters of support from friends, family, teachers, therapists, or additional members of your medical team will also be accepted and can be listed under Section II of the HIPAA Release Form.
Grant Request application and supporting documentation MUST BE SUBMITTED AS A SINGLE PACKAGE (including application, doctor's letter, HIPAA form, and all other supporting documentation together) or be subject to exclusion.
Documentation packages can be emailed to grants@PAS.care or sent via physical mail (strongly suggested***) to:
PANDAS/PANS Advocacy and Support
212 Tupelo Ave., Naperville, IL 60540
** A treating physician is defined as a MD, NP, PA, or DO.
*** We can not answer emails regarding verification of electronic receipt or postal service delivery. For that reason we advise sending your complete grant request package using registered mail.
We recognize income does not necessarily define a family’s needs, and that a PANDAS/PANS crisis is rarely an expected expense. We ask that you use the honor system in reporting your income. It is not the sole factor when determining how grants will be awarded.

Our hope is to give as much as we can to as many families as is possible. However we are completely dependent on the amount of donations we receive. It is our policy to keep operating costs down to a minimum so that we can give the most grants possible. However, in order to keep the organization running, we must have the ability to control the number of grants and amount of grants given in each grant session. Those numbers may change from year to year. As our fundraising base grows, our ability to help others will too.
Families who are not chosen as grant recipients are invited to apply again.
